COG Design Studio developed a smart canopy system that automatically opens and closes in response to temperature and weather conditions. Designed for installation at busy pedestrian crosswalks, this intelligent structure provides shade and comfort for people waiting for the signal, protecting them from the harsh sunlight and heat.
As a piece of public infrastructure, the smart canopy also serves as a communication platform. An integrated display shares useful, real-time information with citizens—ranging from weather updates to public announcements—creating a thoughtful and responsive urban experience.
